When I was 7, I pleaded with my Mom and Dad to get a Major Matt Mason action figure for Christmas. Other than being an ultra cool toy, I figured that Rob the rich kid next door, would think I was worthy of his friendship if I got it. When I got the toy, he still thought I was unworthy - he had it already and had moved on to Planet of the Apes action figures. I wish I had Yellow Blues read to me before pestering my folks, wasting a Christmas wish on a piece of plastic. Janelle, over on My Live gives me hope that her kids (immediate or in her care) "get" this book...
This children's book is delightful. I love the storyline. This little girl, June really want a pair of yellow rain boots, but her parents just don't understand. She is quite the young "diva" or "fashionista" you might say.
I say delightful is this book and I can't wait to share it with my first graders. I'm sure they'll get a kick outta this book.
